5 Ways YOU Can Help Support Our Schools!

3/18/2025

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, our community will vote on renewing Perrysburg Schools’ Permanent Improvement Levy, which funds vital school maintenance, bus replacements, and educational equipment--without increasing taxes!

To ensure the continued success of our schools, the citizen committee Citizens for Perrysburg Schools (CFPS) needs your help to spread the word and encourage voter participation. Here’s how you can get involved:

1. Donate
Every dollar helps us reach more voters! Donations go directly toward campaign efforts like mailers and other community outreach. Suggested donations of $20 or $50 may be mailed payable to “Citizens for Perrysburg Schools” c/o Eric Benington, Treasurer; 412 Rutledge Court, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Or donate online via PayPal: www.citizensforperrysburgschools.org/donate

2. Share Your Support
Help us show the community why this levy renewal matters! If you're willing to share a testimonial about how Perrysburg Schools have positively impacted your family, we’ll help craft the message. Just fill out the form at www.citizensforperrysburgschools.org.

3. Pass Out Information
Join us in reaching out to neighbors to make sure they have the facts about the levy renewal. We are just passing out information, also known as “Lit Drop,” on May 3-5, 2025–no knocking! Sign up at www.citizensforperrysburgschools.org.

4. Spread the Word Online
Encourage friends, family, and community members to sign up for our email list to stay informed about the campaign. The more people who receive updates, the stronger our outreach! Sign up at www.citizensforperrysburgschools.org.

5. Host a Coffee Chat
Invite friends and neighbors to learn more about the levy in an informal setting. You provide the space and refreshments—we provide the speaker! Even if your guests already support the levy, this gives them key facts to share with others. We can also give brief presentations before or after church or civic group meetings. To host, sign up at www.citizensforperrysburgschools.org.

Your support is critical in ensuring our schools remain strong! For more details, volunteer opportunities, or questions, visit www.citizensforperrysburgschools.org or contact 419-344-1218 or [email protected].

Thank you for supporting Perrysburg Schools!

We'll be meeting at 9:15 a.m. for the parade lineup on Louisiana Ave. near 5th Street at the corner of the Commodore lawn. Please wear your Jacket Pride gear and bring a homemade sign to carry using Black and Gold that says: "Please Vote FOR Perrysburg Schools!" or "Preserve Perrysburg Schools!" You are welcome to bring a bag of candy to hand out along the parade route. We will also be taking photos throughout the parade to use on upcoming promotional materials, etc.

5 ways YOU can help Support Our Schools!

8/26/2024

We are the campaign that is aiming to protect our schools and preserve our community by passing a much-needed operational levy, and we would like to invite you to join our effort. Perrysburg School’s 2019 incremental operating levy constitutes 17% of the school district’s annual budget and is set to expire on December 31, 2024. The Board of Education has placed an incremental levy on the Tuesday, November 5, 2024 ballot, which would keep the amount collected today and increase annually to match student growth and needs. Without this levy, the impact on students in the classroom would be substantial, resulting in a loss of funding equivalent to the salaries of approximately 130 employees.

Operating Levy Tuesday, November 5, 2024

8/4/2024

The Board of Education has deliberated extensively throughout the spring on the expiring 2019 operating levy, which constitutes 17% of Perrysburg Schools' annual budget and is set to expire on December 31, 2024. Allowing this levy to expire would result in a loss of $13,542,652, potentially necessitating the reduction of approximately 130 employees.

At their July 15 meeting, the Board of Education approved a Resolution to Proceed to place an issue on the November 5, 2024, ballot. This decision will have a large impact on the future funding and operation of our school district. To clarify, this issue is to fund operations by replacing an expiring levy and is not a bond issue for a new school.

The Board of Education has placed an 8-year, $2 million incremental operating levy on the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, ballot to replace the current levy that is expiring.

Please sign up for our email list to keep in touch with the campaign and learn how you can join the team!

Doorhanger Delivery Help Needed - No Knocking!

We still need many more school supporters to please join our campaign team as a Neighborhood Outreach Leader, which is the most critical position in this campaign as it involves direct voter contact (but NO KNOCKING!). We are asking these team members to please do two rounds of "lit drop," or delivering doorhanger-style flyers to lists we would provide of targeted households in or near your own neighborhood (or near where you work in the school district). Please email us at [email protected] to let us know if we can count on you for this important role.
